Shefield Group is one of Canada’s pre-eminent franchisors, focused on building specialized franchised locations in regional centres across Canada.
Shefield Group is a privately held company and has been in business since 1976 with the first location in Prince George, British Columbia. The success of this store sparked the idea of franchising the concept. Since then, the company has evolved and now incorporates different brands.
Shefield Group is comprised of two main companies, Shefield & Sons-Tobacconists Inc. ("Shefield & Sons") and The Gourmet Cup Foods Ltd. ("Gourmet Cup").
Shefield & Sons has offered franchises in tobacco and related tobacco products since 1978, under the name Shefield & Sons® and in 2004 an expanded convenience store offering was added under the name Shefield Express®.
Gourmet Cup has offered franchises for retail coffee and coffee related products since 1986, under the name Gourmet Cup Beverage Station® as well as franchises for bakery cafés featuring cinnamon rolls and other foods and beverages for consumption on or off the premises, under the name Cinnamon City Bakery Café®.
A company is only as good as its brand and its people. The following is an outline of our key management teams and the years of retail sales and franchising experience that franchisees have access to.
Our merchandising department has over 50 years experience in all facets including: product assortment, layout design and procurement. It has been instrumental in securing substantial reductions in the cost of goods as a result of the industry contacts that have been established over the years.
Real estate in prime shopping centres comes with a premium price and therefore necessitates professional application of the principles of space optimization which happens to be one of the many specialties of the merchandising department.
Our I.T. department provides quality Point of Sale Systems that allows ease of mind for franchisees and staff with superior accuracy in pricing and reporting. Working closely with the merchandising department, the I.T. department is expanding a variety of reports to assist with analyzing and improving sales in each individual store.
